Resort Rules

We love ski mountaineers, especially when they:

1. Stay off the slopes.
2. Watch out for snow groomers.
3. Prioritise safety.

And remember, non-compliance may result in a fine!

Essential Guidelines

1. Never venture into off-piste terrain alone.

2. Adjust your tour to the weather forecast and avalanche risk. Consult a reliable source about the area or route you plan to explore.

3. Always carry an avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe, and mobile phone (each person must have the full kit). Where the snow is very deep, use ski brakes instead of safety straps. Avoid using straps on poles!

4. Avoid areas with deep snow for at least three days after heavy snowfall.

5. Do not ski off-piste or in deep snow without well-practiced rescue skills. Master first aid and the proper use of avalanche rescue equipment.

6. Use an airbag, but don’t place excessive trust in it. Never underestimate risks.

7. Maintain a safe distance between yourself and your companions during both ascent and descent. This limits the risk to one person at critical moments.

8. Steer clear of areas with wind-drifted deep snow (so-called “pillows”) on leeward slopes.

9. Use the same route for descent as you did for ascent. This way, you’ll be more familiar with the terrain and snow conditions.

10. Have doubts or bad feelings? Always say no!
